Happy weekend, buds.
Happy hour on Friday night kicks off at George’s Majestic Lounge with an outdoor performance by local rockers, Honeyjack at 6 p.m. George’s will also host shows on Saturday morning with a performance by locals The Juice Duo as a pre-game event before the Ole Miss Game. That’s a free show, and there will be barbecue for sale from Penguin Ed’s at the event. Then later on Saturday night, The Mixtapes will perform at around 8 p.m.
There are a couple notable events at Mount Sequoyah this weekend. On Friday night, SoNA harpist Alisa Coffey will perform an outdoor show on the grounds near the ‘cottage circle.’ More info, including ticket info, is here. On Saturday night, their Taste of the Mountain culinary event will take place, featuring a tour of the grounds with small plates and drinks at each stop. Here’s our story.
TheatreSquared will continue to host virtual performances of their hit show, Ann, through the weekend. Here’s info about that.
Prairie Street Live has live music this weekend, with Honey Collective and Bootleg Royale on Friday night, and The Traveling Squirrels on Saturday night. Here’s more info.
How about a movie? The Walton Arts Center will continue their Saturday film series with screenings of The Sun is Also a Star (2 p.m.) and Fiddler – A Miracle of Miracles (7 p.m.).
It’s a good weekend for sports fans, too. The Hogs football team takes on Ole Miss at 2:30 p.m. at Razorback Stadium. The game will be televised by the SEC Network. Also, the Diamond Hogs will play their annual fall baseball series of scrimmages this weekend. Fans aren’t allowed, but the series games on Sunday and beyond will be televised by the SEC Network. Here’s more.
There’s more below, and as always, feel free to let us know what me missed in the comments below. Have a good weekend, everyone.
