Case update: Arkansas COVID-19 cases increase by 1,202 Thursday

The number of new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases in Arkansas increased by 1,202 on Thursday.

Of those, 893 were confirmed from PCR testing, and 309 cases are considered probable after detection by antigen testing.

Hospitalizations in the state decreased yesterday by 24, bringing the total number of Arkansans currently hospitalized to 612.

There were 21 additional deaths, bringing the toll to 1,772.

There are currently 8,730 cases of COVID-19 considered active in the state, which includes those that have tested positive by both PCR and antigen testing methods. There are 92,288 inactive cases.

The state reported 10,039 new PCR tests on Thursday, along with 1,405 new antigen tests.

The state has reached 102,798 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

The top counties for new cases announced Thursday were Pulaski (115), Benton (93), Craighead (70), Washington (50), and Garland (39).
