A new local theatre company will perform a brand new show for a limited in-person (and streaming online) audience next week.

The new company is called The What, and was created by locals Bailey Lee, Coleman Ray Clark and Chris Holtkamp.

The company will perform an experimental new show titled Blue Marble (or the Owen play) outdoors near the B Unlimited Building at 612 W. Center Street in Fayetteville.

From the description of the show:

The new untitled devised play was created by Coleman Ray Clark, Bailey Lee, and Chris Holtkamp in one month of joyus reconnection after being separated by the pandemic. The play chronicles what distance does to our relationship with ourselves, the people we love and the universe.

Performances are scheduled at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 9 p.m. on Oct. 27-29.

The performances will be limited to a maximum of 30 people (including performers and technicians), and masks will be required. Attendees will have temperatures checked and hands sanitized before the show begins, and the two unmasked performers will remain at least 20 feet from the closest audience members.

There will be no public restrooms available, so, plan ahead for that. The show will run between 30 minutes and an hour, officials said.

In addition to the limited in-person performances, the show will also be streamed online.

Tickets range from $5-$20, and are on sale now at thewhatco.org.
