With more than 32 million people living with food allergies, including 1 in 13 children, Halloween can be a bit of a challenge.

After debuting the event last year, local businesses Big Box Karaoke and Hedberg Allergy & Asthma will once again partner for an event to help make the holiday a little more fun for everyone.

The businesses recently announced plans their second ever Be(A)ware Halloween event, an allergy-friendly drive-in trick or treating event from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Big Box.

To participate, organizers are asking attendees to pre-register at Eventbrite to help control the flow of traffic. Then, attendees can dress up, decorate their cars, and drive up to pick up an allergy-friendly treat bag.

All volunteers will be using extra precautions when bagging treats, organizers say, and those handing out treats will be masked up, wearing gloves, and sanitizing between handing out treat bags.

Participants are asked to pull up to Big Box Karaoke, stop briefly to be handed their treat bags, and take a quick car photo and move along.
