It’s one of those rare years where Halloween falls on a Saturday night. Even rarer, there will be a full moon this year. A blue moon at that. Plus, Daylight Savings ends on Sunday, so you can get an extra hour of sleep to recover.
There’s still plenty of Halloween fun to be had this weekend, but just like you’ve been doing for the better part of this year, you gotta be smart, wear a mask, wash your hands, and keep your distance while you go about your Halloween business.
We’ve written about several kid-related Halloween events this year, but to recap, there’s the Little Sprouts costume parade on Friday, a drive-in allergy free event at Big Box Karaoke on Saturday, a Trunk or Treat event at Williams Center Dance & Gymnasitics on Saturday, and a Halloween story time event at the Fayetteville Public Library on Saturday.
The Walmart AMP will host a Halloween Happy Hour event on Friday night with Funk Factory if you feel like shaking the tailfeather of your sweet duck costume you made this year.
Also in tunes, local bluegrass geniuses Arkansauce will perform a two-night stand at George’s on Friday and Saturday night. Here’s more on that.
There are two shows at Mount Sequoyah this weekend, with The Juice on Friday night and touring act Dawson Hollow on Halloween night.
Also in outdoor shows, Prairie Street Live has music on Friday with Flintwick, Jonteal and Rhizomorphic, and on Saturday with Deep Sequence and a Monk is King album release party.
Walton Arts Center will host a couple movie screenings, with Hocus Pocus at 2 p.m. and a Rocky Horror Picture Show showing later on. You can bring your own props for that, or purchase some at the show. Ticket info.
A couple Block Avenue bars are all dressed up for the occasion. Pinpoint’s Nightmare on Block Street will continue through the weekend, and Maxine’s is all decked out in a Moulin Rouge theme.
There’s more below, and as always, feel free to let us know anything we’ve missed in the comments.
