With the increase in coronavirus cases in the state right now, folks are kind of all over the spectrum when it comes to their comfort level for getting out in the world right now. This weekend has something for all those different types of people.
There are virtual events, for example. The Fayetteville Film Fest will continue their schedule of virtual screenings in association with this year’s event. They’re on a pay-what-you-can basis. Here’s more info.
You could check out TheatreSquared’s show Russian Troll Farm, which has received national attention in the New York Times and other pubs recently. Details on that are here.
You can check out some performance art via the Inverse Performance Art Festival, which is also going virtual this year. Here’s more info.
There are also some socially-distanced in person events you could check out. George’s has shows on Friday night with Full House during happy hour and Goose later on in the evening. On Saturday, a Prince Tribute will take the stage.
There are outdoor shows as well. Local bluegrass band 3 Penny Acre will reunite for an evening during a performance scheduled outside Roots HQ on the square on Saturday night. I believe that one is sold out, so hopefully you’ve already made ticket arrangements.
Also in outdoor shows, there’s a Deepwood Media Open Mic on Friday night at Prairie Street Live, and the venue will host an album release party for The Crumbs on Saturday night.
The Razorback football team is in Florida for a matchup versus the Gators on Saturday night, so you could just stay home and watch that on TV as well. It’s a 6 p.m. kickoff.
