Case update: Arkansas COVID-19 cases increase by 1,017 Monday


The number of new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases in Arkansas increased by 1,017 on Monday.

Of the new cases added today, 75 are from Washington County, and 69 come from Benton County.

Hospitalizations in the state increased by 12, bringing the total number of Arkansans hospitalized to a record-high of 974. There are 164 Arkansans on ventilators, up one from Sunday.

Deaths on Monday increased by 30, bringing the toll in Arkansas to 2,387.

There are currently 16,727 cases of COVID-19 considered active in the state, which includes those that have tested positive by both PCR and antigen testing methods. The new cases announced today brings the total number of active cases in Benton and Washington counties to 2,381.

The state reported 10,693 new PCR tests on Monday, along with 890 new antigen tests.

The new cases bring the total cumulative count in Arkansas to 146,190 since the pandemic began.

The top counties for new cases announced Monday were Pulaski (157), Washington (75), Benton (69), Sebastian (57), and Saline (54).
