Case update: Arkansas COVID-19 cases increase by 1,112 Monday


The number of new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases in Arkansas increased by 1,112 on Monday, according to the Arkansas Department of Health’s daily update.

Of the new cases added today, 64 are from Washington County and 56 come from Benton County.

Hospitalizations increased by 33, bringing the total number of Arkansans hospitalized to 1,063. According to the NWA Council’s daily COVID-19 update, there are currently 107 patients in COVID-19 wards in NWA hospitals.

There are 201 Arkansans on ventilators, up 16 from Sunday. There are currently 40 NWA patients on ventilators.

Deaths on Monday increased by 32, bringing the toll in Arkansas to 2,502.

There are currently 16,140 cases of COVID-19 considered active in the state, which includes those that have tested positive by both PCR and antigen testing methods.

The state reported 9,669 new PCR tests on Monday, along with 531 new antigen tests.

The new cases bring the total cumulative count in Arkansas to 153,359 since the pandemic began.

The top counties for new cases announced Monday were Pulaski (153), Craighead (86), Washington (64), Garland (58), and Benton (56).
