Let’s not sugar coat things. It’s been a tough year, and there are probably more tough months ahead for local businesses.
For obvious reasons, shopping locally for the holidays (and every day) is more important than ever this year.
So if you’re purchasing gifts for friends and family, try to remember that local places need your support. And if you have dollars to spend, consider spending them with small, local places instead of giant corporations. Get your gifts from local boutiques. Pick up a restaurant gift card from a local establishment. Leave a really good tip, if you can.
