State to host public input meeting about Highway 16 improvements

Arkansas Department of Transportation

The Arkansas Department of Transportation will host an online public meeting this week about the proposed improvements to Highway 16 from Stone Bridge Road to Roberts Road in southeast Fayetteville.

The plan is to widen Highway 16 from Stone Bridge Road to Roberts Road from the existing areas of two lanes to a proposed four lanes with 4-foot bicycle lanes, and to restripe the previously widened sections to include four lanes with bicycle lanes.

The meeting is scheduled from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10. It will be held virtually (link here), and requires registration to participate.

The public is invited to listen, view meeting materials, and provide written comments. The project website will be available for comments until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 25.

Participants are asked to first register, and then watch the presentation video (below) and review the exhibits (see here) prior to the live session to help understand the project and think of any questions they might have.
