Weekend Flyer: Funk Factory, A Christmas Carol, North Forest Lights and more

Seems like every seven days or so we keep finding ourselves in another weekend situation. It’s here again. Crazy.

Local band Funk Factory is playing a two night stand of socially-distanced holiday shows at George’s on Friday and Saturday night this weekend. There is also a live stream planned. Also at George’s, locals Brick Fields will play a happy hour show. Ticket info to those shows is here.

Also in holiday show news, TheatreSquared is performing a new adaptation of A Christmas Carol starting this week. It’s a streaming show, so you don’t even have to leave your house to check it out. They have other shows, including their The Half-Life of Marie Curie, which just received a rave review in The Wall Street Journal.

Of course, you could always swing up to the square and check out Lights of the Ozarks, or down to the Walton Arts Center to check out the Holidaze pop up bar.

Up in Bentonville, North Forest Lights are back at Crystal Bridges for the season. This year, you can reserve your own snow globe, and enjoy some food or drinks in the middle of the display. Here’s more info about that.

There are sports this weekend as well, with the Razorback Football team taking on No. 1 ranked Alabama at 11 a.m. on Saturday, and the men’s basketball team taking on Central Arkansas at 7 p.m. Saturday night. The No. 13 ranked Arkansas women’s team is also in action this weekend, taking on Central Arkansas at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

As always, feel free to let us know what you’re up to this weekend in the comments below.
