Case update: Arkansas COVID-19 deaths increase by 45 Monday, cases up 1,355


The number of new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases in Arkansas increased by 1,355 on Monday.

Of the new cases added today, 102 are from Washington County and 95 come from Benton County.

Hospitalizations decreased by 7 on Friday to 1,050.

There are 180 Arkansans on ventilators, down one from Sunday.

The state announced 45 new deaths as a result of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the toll in the state to 2,990 since the pandemic began.

There are currently 20,691 cases of COVID-19 considered active in the state, which includes those that have tested positive by both PCR and antigen testing methods.

The state reported 9,244 new PCR tests on Monday, along with 925 new antigen tests.

The new cases bring the total cumulative count in Arkansas to 187,057 since the pandemic began.

The top counties for new cases announced Monday were Pulaski (194), Washington (102), Benton (95), Faulkner (66) and Saline (58).
