Updated: Dec. 18: After testing staff and deep-cleaning the space, Holidaze announced it will reopen a day early on Saturday, Dec. 19.

From the announcement:

After temporarily closing Holidaze to complete contact tracing and additional COVID-19 testing for our staff, we have deep cleaned our spaces, and we can safely reopen Holidaze this Saturday. Thank you for bearing with us as we did what was best to protect patrons and staff. We will also be extending our hours for the week of Christmas. Join us 3-11 pm Dec. 20-23 for extra holiday cheer!

What’s the opposite of holiday magic? Holiday tragic?

We ask, because that’s kind of what happened today, when Walton Arts Center officials announced the cheery holiday-themed pop-up bar Holidaze will be closed through Dec. 19 due to positive COVID-19 tests by staff.

Those who have made reservations are being notified of the closure, and anyone who’d like to cancel or reschedule their reservation may do so by contacting tickets@waltonartscenter.org.

The Drag Time Christmas Story Hour event originally scheduled for Friday, Dec. 18 will be rescheduled, officials said.

Some special time slots have also been related to accommodate guests who’s reservations that will have to be rescheduled.

For a bit more information, check out the announcement on Facebook.

After testing all staff, Holidaze hopes to reopen on Sunday, Dec. 20.
