State officials will accept public comments about the widening of Highway 112 using an online comment form that is available through the end of the year.
The Arkansas Department of Transportation plans to widen the roadway between Highway 412 and Highway 612 (Springdale Bypass) through Tontitown, Springdale, and Elm Springs in Washington and Benton counties.
Typical cross sections include four 11-foot travel lanes with a 15-foot median and sidewalks on each side. Certain sections will be reduced to a 4-foot median.
Three designs have been proposed with options on how to handle the widening near School Street, Scott Street and Elm Springs Road.
