Case update: Arkansas announces 1,457 new cases of COVID-19 Monday, 58 new deaths


The Arkansas Department of Health announced that COVID-19 cases in Arkansas increased by 1457 on Monday.

The state announced 58 new deaths as a result of COVID-19, bringing the toll in the state to 3,295 since the pandemic began.

Of the new cases added today, 101 are from Washington County and 138 come from Benton County.

Hospitalizations increased by 21 on Monday, bringing the total number of Arkansans hospitalized with the virus to 1,078.

There are 174 Arkansans on ventilators, up 4 from Sunday.

There are currently 22,158 cases of COVID-19 considered active in the state, which includes those that have tested positive by both PCR and antigen testing methods.

The state reported 9,178 new PCR tests on Monday, along with 1,013 new antigen tests.

The new cases bring the total cumulative count in Arkansas to 203,107 since the pandemic began.

The top counties for new cases announced Monday were Pulaski (200), Benton (138), Washington (101), Craighead (93), and Faulkner (69).
