The city’s recycling and trash collection services have been suspended for Thursday (Feb. 11) because of road conditions. The services were also called off on Wednesday.

Residential update

Residential collections will resume next week and be collected on their normal day. No extra bag charges will be assessed to Wednesday or Thursday residential customers who did not receive collection service this week, according to city officials. Those who don’t want to wait until next week for recycling services can use either of the city’s two recycling drop-off facilities which are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Commercial update

This week’s Thursday commercial routes are being limited to critical facilities only. Collection for other commercial customers will resume when roads conditions improve, possibly on Friday or Saturday.

Transfer station and compost update

The transfer station at 1560 S. Happy Hollow Road and the Compost Facility at 1708 S. Armstrong Avenue will be closed to the public on Thursday. Both locations will reopen when road and weather conditions allow for safe operations.

Recycling drop-off centers

Both of the city’s recycling drop-off centers are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week:

  • Happy Hollow Recycling Drop-Off – 1420 S. Happy Hollow Road
  • Marion Orton Recycling Drop-Off – 735 W. North Street
