The Fayetteville City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 16 has been rescheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18 because of the recent weather.

Officials said there are several extreme weather-related considerations that could cause some or all attendees to lose access to the meeting, including the potential for rolling blackouts and interruptions in broadband service.

City offices were closed Tuesday with only essential staff present. Because of that, the city is not able to broadcast public meetings to the Government Channel, YouTube or any other live channels the public typically uses to view meetings outside of Zoom.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Warning that will go into effect at 4 p.m. Tuesday and last through 6 a.m. Thursday. The new system could bring as much as 10 inches of snow in some places, according to forecasters.
