Modern Fayetteville kids will finally get to experience a snow day this week.

Fayetteville Public Schools officials today announced that all schools are closed and no virtual classes are scheduled for this Wednesday, Feb. 17.

From the announcement:

Due to the winter weather, road conditions, and power outages, Fayetteville Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, February 17 for a snow day (no virtual learning). All buildings will be closed, and all activities are canceled.

The district has pivoted to virtual instruction during inclement weather recently instead of cancelling classes altogether. Wednesday marks the first time the district has cancelled classes altogether this year, though schools were closed on a snowy day Monday for a previously scheduled off day for President’s Day and teacher inservice.

Now, who’s got a sled we can borrow?
