The University of Arkansas’ Randal Tyson Track Center was certified by World Athletics this month after a series of recent renovations.
The facility, which is home to Razorback indoor track and field, is now one of just five indoor facilities in the United States to be certified by the organization’s highest standard. The program’s outdoor facility, John McDonnell Field, also has a World Athletics certification, making Arkansas the only university to have a certified indoor and outdoor facility.
UA officials said when Arkansas hosts the NCAA Indoor Championships in March, it will be the first time in the 55-year history of the event to be held at a World Athletics-certified venue.
Recent renovations included a new floor surface throughout the venue, as well as an additional video board, speaker system, and graphics.
