New Business

1. 7Hills Homeless Center Sub-recipient Grant Agreement (Details)

A resolution to authorize Mayor Jordan to sign a sub-recipient grant agreement with 7Hills Homeless Center to provide up to $50,000.00 in financial support for the COVID-19 cold weather response plan, and to approve a budget adjustment.
– Pass 8-0

Background:
This is a reallocation of funds that the city has received. The money will support 7Hills’ COVID-19 cold weather response plan. The organization provides basic needs, housing, and support services to people experiencing homelessness.

Discussion:
Staff said the money being allocated was originally budgeted for home improvements, but because of COVID-19, many people chose to not have crews in their homes making improvements, so there is money in the budget for this item. City staff requested that HUD allow this reallocation, and the organization approved the request about a week and a half ago. This item will finalize the allocation.

Jessica Andrews, CEO of 7Hills, thanked the council for considering this item. Kara Paxton offered similar comments.

Decision:
The council voted unanimously to approve the resolution.
