Four-way stops coming to Douglas Street

Drivers should take note of two new all-way stops planned on West Douglas Street near the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville.

City traffic crews are set to install four-way stop signs at the intersections of Storer Avenue and Oakland Avenue on Tuesday, April 27. The intersections currently only include stops for cross traffic on Douglas.

The city’s Engineering Division has determined that creating a four-way stop at this intersection is necessary for public safety due to the volume of traffic, sight distance, and accident history, according to a news release.

Drivers using the intersection on installation day are encouraged to use caution and watch for workers.
