First Thursday will return to the downtown square for the 2021 season, but not until later in the year.

Officials with Experience Fayetteville, the city’s tourism bureau, announced the return of the event this week, but noted the season will be shortened.

The events are traditionally held the first Thursday of the month May through October from 5-8:30 p.m. This year’s schedule will skip the first three months and will begin on Aug. 5, the bureau announced.

The free, family-friendly events include an outdoor arts district with visual artists whose work in variety of mediums is on display around the downtown square. The event also typically includes live music, street performances, children’s activities, food trucks and more.

Dates and themes for 2021 are:

Aug. 5 – Dog Daze of Summer
Sept. 2 – Tight Knit
Oct. 7 – Light

Vendor applications are now open. Applications are welcome from skilled artists, non-profits, community groups, or food and beverage establishments. Applicants representing a political party, a candidate for political office, or those selling multi-level marketing products are not accepted.

From Experience Fayetteville:

We encourage ALL creatives to apply! Whether it’s your first time having a booth or you’ve been selling your work for years, we like to keep costs low. We do not collect any percentage of your sales so you can continue to have an impactful community presence in Fayetteville.

Vendor fees range from $25-$40 per event, depending on whether food and/or beverages are served (more info here).

Sponsorship opportunities are also available (more info here).
