A bunch of Fayetteville bands and community members are coming together to help out one of their own this weekend.

Ten local bands are set to perform at a benefit concert and one-day music festival called CydStock this Saturday, May 8 at Prairie Street Live in Fayetteville.

The event will benefit local resident Cyd Starr, who is currently battling a form of cervical cancer.

The festival will include performances from a who’s-who of local musicians, including National Park Radio, Rachel Ammons, Red Oak Ruse, Me and Him, John Henry and Adams Collins, Shilah Molina & Special Guests, Chris Crovella, Skye Pollard, Patti Steel, and Chyna Cat.

In addition to the music, there will be a host of activities for families, including a puppet show, a local art raffle, cake walk, petting zoo, live painting, silent auction, henna art, yard cames, airbrush tattoos, a photo station, and more.

The event will begin at 12:30 p.m. and run well into the evening. The festival will have a spring theme, and attendees are expected to dress in their finest spring attire, and wear flowers in their hair in honor of Cyd.

Tickets are $20-$40, on sale via Eventbrite here.

Those who can not attend can also pitch in to help out via a GoFundMe page.
