City adding new parking lot at Kessler Mountain Regional Park

Crews are currently at work on a project that will add 83 more parking spaces at Kessler Mountain Regional Park.

The city’s Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with the Beaver Watershed Alliance on the project, which features a low-impact design parking lot on the east corner of the soccer fields near the roundabout entryway.

The work is expected to be completion by September, according to Lacie Ballard, the city’s recreation program manager.

Ballard said parking around the new lot will be limited over the course of construction, so visitors are encouraged to arrive early for games and to consider carpooling when possible.

Cyclists are asked to park on the east side of the playground parking lot to allow youth game participants to park closer to the playing fields.

For more information, call the Parks and Recreation Department at 479-444-3471.
