Crews this week will begin a project to replace the playground surfacing at three of Fayetteville’s parks.

The existing rubber tile surfacing at Rodney Ryan Park, Sweetbriar Park, and Bryce Davis Park is set to be replaced with artificial turf surfacing.

The work is scheduled to begin at Rodney Ryan Park on Tuesday, May 18, and then progress to Sweetbriar Park and then Bryce Davis Park. The parks will remain open, but each playground will be closed during installation of the new surfacing.

The work at each park should take between four and six days, weather permitting, according to Byron Humphry, maintenance superintendent of the parks department.
