The Mountain Goats frontman John Darnielle will perform in Fayetteville on Sunday, Sept. 19 at George’s Majestic Lounge. Doors open at 7 p.m. and music starts at 8:30 p.m.

The show marks the first announcement from local music promoter Roger Barrett since February 2020 when his On The Map series was halted because of COVID-19.

Tickets are $20 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, June 11 at Stubs.net.

Darnielle’s latest Mountain Goats album “Dark in Here” was recorded at Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and is set for a June 25 release via Merge Records. The group last week shared the title track from the upcoming LP on YouTube. It’s the third single to be released from the new record. The band shared “The Slow Parts on Death Metal Albums” in May and “Mobile” in April.

The Mountain Goats will hit the road for a full band tour in August, followed by a series of solo performances by Darnielle in September.
