The Arkansas Department of Health announced that COVID-19 cases in Arkansas increased by 201 on Wednesday.
The state announced two new deaths as a result of the virus, bringing the total number of deaths in the state as a result of the pandemic to 5,854.
Hospitalizations went up by 12, bringing the total number of Arkansans hospitalized in the state to 216. There are 40 patients on ventilators, up three from the day prior.
There are currently 1,659 cases of COVID-19 considered active in the state, which includes those that have tested positive by both PCR and antigen testing methods. The ADH dashboard currently lists 83 active cases in Washington County and 116 in Benton County.
There were 2,206 PCR tests conducted in the state and 479 antigen tests.
The new cases bring the total cumulative count in Arkansas to 342,927 since the pandemic began.
The state announced that 6,968 additional doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, bringing the total number of doses given by the state to 2,026,945. The state lists 235,005 as partially immunized, and 930,652 individuals as fully immunized.
All Arkansans 12 and older are currently eligible for a vaccine.
