The Arkansas Cinema Society will host a screening of a film by an Arkansas native at the library this week.

The organization will show the Disney film Raya and the Last Dragon, written by Arkansas native Qui Nguyen, at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 24 at the Fayetteville Public Library.

“We are very excited to bring Raya and the Last Dragon to the Fayetteville Public Library,” said ACS Executive Director Kathryn Tucker. “Highlighting Arkansas creatives is a big part of what we do. We are pleased to see an Arkansan like Qui Nguyen go on to do big things and work with Disney on such a fantastic film.”

The screening will be held outdoors at the new gathering glade space located on the west side of the library. A pre-recorded question and answer session with Nguyen will air before the film.

The screening is free and open to the public.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled on July 1.
