After a few years looking, it appears as though Walk On’s has finally found a location for their Fayetteville restaurant.

The Louisiana-based restaurant/sports bar chain has submitted plans to the city for a 7,800-square-foot restaurant with associated parking on 1.9 acres northwest of Wedington Drive near Interstate 49.

The restaurant concept was created by former LSU walk on basketball players Brandon Landry and Jack Warner. New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has since bought in as an owner of the chain.

The menu focuses on sports bar fair with a Cajun flavor, with popular items including their Boom Boom Shrimp, Catfish Atchafalaya, Ribeye Poboy, and Zydeco Salad.

The new Fayetteville location is also listed under the ‘coming soon’ area of the chain’s website.

Walk On’s first announced plans to expand to NWA in the fall of 2017.

“Northwest Arkansas has seen significant growth over the past several years and bringing our concept to the area was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up,” said local franchisee Chris McJunkins when the NWA expansion was announced. “Coupled with being a university town, we are eagerly anticipating sharing our passion for food served in a game day atmosphere with the local community.”

They officially opened their Rogers location in March of 2020.

The restaurant’s large-scale development plan for the Fayetteville location was on last week’s Tech Plat agenda, and will next head to the Planning Commission for approval.

Walk On’s operates around 50 restaurants around the country, including Arkansas locations in Fort Smith, Rogers, and Conway.
