Longtime local photographer Wesley Hitt will show new work beginning next month in Fayetteville.

Hitt will debut a new shot titled Light Moments: Photography by Wesley Hitt on Thursday, July 15 at TheatreSquared at 477 West Spring Street.

Hitt has been photographing everything from sports to business leaders, and more for a diverse group of clients for 37 years, including Getty Images, Time Magazine, the NFL, NBA, NASCAR, and others. His images have appeared in Time Magazine, the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, Outside Magazine, and countless other publications.

His hope with each of his photos, he said, is to help transport the viewer to the time and place where they were captured.

“The moment that someone is looking at one of my photographs, do they feel a sense of place, like they are there?,” he said. “I want viewers to be able to sit with my photos, look around and enjoy the moment.”

The show will include a variety of Hitt’s work, including some of his photos taken for TheatreSquared’s productions, including shots from Shakespeare in Love, The Champion, The Legend of Georgia McBride, Once: The Musical, Vietgone, My Father’s War, All the Way, Fun Home, The Hound of the Baskervilles, Detroit, School Girls; or the African Mean Girls Play, The Half Life of Marie Curie, The Royale, A Christmas Carol, along with others from Hitt’s personal collection of photos from locations around Arkansas and the U.S.

“Theatre is ephemeral, it exists live, and for just that moment. Representing it in photos is so challenging,” said Martin Miller Executive Director, “We are so fortunate to work with a world-class photographer like Wesley Hitt who can capture that moment where light and movement make magic for our audiences.”

The show will open with a reception at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 15.

After that, it will remain on display through Aug. 14.
