Local gift shop Handmade Market to close Evelyn Hills store

A longtime local gift store will soon close its doors.

The owners of local shop Handmade Market, located at 1504 N. College Ave. in Fayetteville, last week announced the closure on the company’s social media pages.

From the post:

Dear Friends,
There are changes in store for our store.
We will be closing our physical location and taking some much needed time away from daily operations, to regroup, renew, and redefine what Handmade means to our lives and what role we want it to play in the community.

We are currently exploring opportunities to bring back Handmade in a different format.

Thank you all for your patronage and we hope to see you again soon. Please direct any question to [email protected]

The shop was first opened in Elkins in 1996 by local artist Mim Wynne. The store was located in downtown Fayetteville for a while before moving to Evelyn Hills Shopping Center. Wynne sold the shop to another local artist, Bryan Gott and family, in 2016.

Gott said he is currently surveying customers seeking input on what form they’d like to see the business take moving forward. Those who’d like to provide input can visit this link.

The store’s last day will be July 17. Discounts are available on the remaining inventory.

For a bit more information, visit the Handmade Instagram page.
