You’ve heard of polo (the equine sport, not the cologne or style of clothing). You’ve seen water polo in the Olympics. You are aware of the existence of kayaks.
Combine all of those items together, and you’ve got something similar to a new event at the Wilson Park pool, as part of the city’s Outdoor Fayetteville program.
Kayak polo began last month and there are at least three more opportunities to participate, according to the program website.
Officials also announced plans for another kayak polo event on Wednesday, Aug. 11 at the pool, located at 675 N. Park Ave. in Fayetteville.
According to an Instagram post, anyone can sign up to play, and all of the equipment and supplies for the game will be provided.
Games will be held from 6-8 p.m. that evening, and the cost is $10.
