Happy Friday, everyone.
For the 122nd time in the last one-hundred-and-twenty-something years (the event was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic), the Tontitown Grape Festival will be happening just north of Fayetteville this weekend. There’s a carnival, live music, and of course, plenty of chicken spaghetti (it’s a thing). Here’s more info about that.
In tunes, George’s will kick off the weekend with locals, Full House during happy hour. Later on Friday, local bluegrass band The Damn Neighbors will celebrate the release of their new album with their friends Lonesome Narrows. On Saturday, Springfield’s The Mixtapes will perform.
The Bentonville Film Festival is underway for the 2021 season. This year’s event takes place as a hybrid version of virtual showings and local and limited on-the-ground events due to the pandemic. Here’s the schedule.
There’s a big gravel bike ride departing from the Fayetteville Square on Saturday morning. It’s part of the Fayetteville Adventure Series we wrote about not too long ago. Here’s a bit more info about the series.
TheatreSquared has a brand new comedy that opened this week. The new show is called American Mariachi and is described as “a hilarious and heartwarming new music-filled comedy about the freedom to dream big.” Here’s more about that.
How about an art show? There’s a big group show opening on Mount Sequoyah on Friday night called “Resilient Together: The Artist’s Journey through Liminal Space.” We wrote about that earlier this week.
There’s a country show at the Walmart AMP this weekend with Lady A, Carly Pearce, Niko Moon, and Tenille Arts.
Also of note, local legends The Cate Brothers will play the new Railyard Park in Rogers on Saturday night.
Feel free to let us know what you’re up to this weekend in the comments below. Have a great weekened!
