A longtime local convenience store recently closed, and a national chain is reportedly moving in.

According to signs posted on the gas pumps and door of the store, North Street Mini Mart, located at 758 W. North St., has permanently closed, and a Circle K will take its place.

The signs announcing the closure mirrored the personality of the store:

North Street Mini Mart 1991-2021

Thirty years of hard work and a lot of fun and B.S. Thanks Fayetteville. Go Hogs! Go Packers!

The store, known for its Razorback outcome-related fountain drink specials (remember those?), excellent candy selection, and free air station at the rear of the store (among other things), opened in 1991, and officially closed in late August.

Hawg Wash, the laundromat next door, is also closed and most of the equipment has been cleared from the building.

It will be the first Circle K store in northwest Arkansas for the second-largest convenient store chain in the U.S. The chain operates several locations in central Arkansas, including Little Rock, North Little Rock, Hot Springs, and others.

We reached out to Circle K for more information on the Fayetteville location, and we’ll add that info here when we hear back.
