City officials are seeking public input on plans to improve walkability in the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard area in south Fayetteville.
Residents are encouraged to review the concept drawings and complete an online questionnaire at speakup.fayetteville-ar.gov.
The city’s 2018 Mobility Plan identified the areas between Walker Park and Archibald Yell Boulevard as a priority zone for improvements for pedestrian safety and connectivity. The proposed concepts include new sidewalks, safety improvements to crosswalks, traffic calming, vegetation clearing and ADA-compliant curb ramps.
Funding for the work would come from the bond issue approved by voters in April 2019.

- Installation of speed cushions and curb extensions on the Spout Springs Branch bridge
- Enhanced crosswalk at South Street
