If dogs make people happy, and you adopt one during a happy hour event, does that double the happiness?
We don’t know, but some local folks will find out during a ‘Pups and Pints’ adoption event set for 4-6 p.m. on Thursday night (Oct. 14) at Ozark Natural Foods.
The event, sponsored by Adventure Subaru, will feature adoptable dogs from Big Paws of the Ozarks, and local brews from the bar at the new Ozark Natural Foods.
Attendees will receive $1 off their pints that evening, and Adventure Subaru will donate $100 to Big Paws for each dog adopted during the event, and through the rest of the month of October.
In addition, Adventure Subaru is hosting a month-long donation drive at their dealership at 2269 N. Henbest Dr., collecting items for Big Paws including dog food, dog beds, medium and large-sized collars and leashes, cleaning supplies, dog crates, and more. Items can be dropped off during their normal business hours (Mon.-Fri. 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., Sat. from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.).
For those who aren’t familiar, Big Paws of the Ozarks is a non-profit that works with local shelters and rescues to help large breed dogs find homes in Northwest Arkansas. For more info about their work, visit bigpawsozarks.org.
