Noted as one of TIME’s “100 Most Influential People in the World,” Hasan Minhaj is an award-winning comedian, writer, producer and political commentator most recently known as the host and creator of the weekly comedy show “Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj,” which premiered on Netflix in October 2018.

That same year, Minhaj earned rave reviews and a Peabody Award for his one-hour Netflix comedy special Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King. He first rose to prominence as a correspondent for “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” in November 2014. He continued on in that role after Trevor Noah took over as host the following year and remained on the show through August 2018. During that time, he went on to host the 2017 White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

For Minhaj, the ability to have an honest and authentic discussion is his reason for pursuing comedy. His stand-up routines and commentary explore the modern cultural and political landscape with depth and sincerity through a unique comedic voice. A first-generation American, Minhaj comes from a Muslim family originally from India, and he often draws on that personal history in his work.
