Country music star Morgan Wallen will perform in Northwest Arkansas next year, officials announced Monday.

Wallen will bring his 46-city “Dangerous Tour” to the Walmart AMP on Friday, Aug. 26, 2022. Country singer Hardy will open the show.

It’s been an up-and-down year for Wallen, who came into 2021 as one of country music’s biggest rising stars, but was shunned and disqualified from the Academy of Country Music Awards after he was caught using a racial slur on video in February. He later appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and said while he didn’t make the slur in a derogatory manner, he realized it was still wrong. He has since offered more apologies and promised to make donations to Black-led advocacy groups.

Wallen is currently testing the waters with a mini tour that has so far included three sold-out nights in Kentucky, and a crowd of over 30,000 fans at a show in Alabama. He is set to play two nights at Simmons Bank Arena in North Little Rock this weekend.

Tickets to the AMP show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3 Jan. 28 (new sale date announced on 11/18), and start at $55 plus fees. Gates open at 6 p.m. and music starts at 7 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 479-443-5600, by visiting www.amptickets.com or stopping by the Walmart AMP or Walton Arts Center box offices. In-person sales are available at the AMP Box Office from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and at the Walton Arts Center Box Office from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays.
