Another big show is coming to JJ’s Live.

Venue officials today announced that songwriter Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit will perform on their new stage on Friday, May 6. Rock band Heartless Bastards will open the show.

Isbell is well known for his solo work, as well as for his work with his band The 400 Unit, and as a former member of Drive By Truckers. He was last in town opening for Sheryl Crow at the Walmart AMP in 2019, where he also performed with Willie Nelson a few years ago.

In his review of his last AMP show, Kevin Kinder called him a must see.

“He’s one of the most important triple threats (that’s songwriting, singing and guitar playing) making music today,” Kinder wrote.

As has been the case for all of Isbell’s shows over the last year or so, proof of full vaccination will be required for attendees of the Fayetteville show.

Tickets are $60 for general admission, and $100 for the pit/floor. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10 at stubs.net.
