Volunteers still needed for White Elephant 5K holiday race

Course volunteers and setup assistants are needed for this weekend’s White Elephant 5K holiday race.

The city’s Parks and Recreation Department will host the event on Saturday, Dec. 11 on the Fayetteville downtown square.

The road race will be held along the city streets connecting several Fayetteville landmarks such as the square, Old Main lawn, Wilson Park and Dickson Street.

The run-or-walk 5K is open to all ages.

Registration is $25 for adults or $10 for ages 15 and under, and includes an event shirt and a finisher medal. Participants can sign up through Dec. 10 online (here).

Volunteers are needed as the event will take place on an open course and will include several street crossings, an aid station and on-course activities. Anyone who’d like to be involved can check out the details on Givepulse.com, or contact the Parks and Recreation office for more information.
