Weekend Flyer: Arkansauce, Funk Factory, Full House, and more

Break out your 2022 glasses and hats, everyone. We’re saying goodbye to 2021, and hello to a new year.

We wrote about several of these items earlier this week in our annual list of New Year’s Eve parties, so we’ll be brief in this week’s installment of the Weekend Flyer.

If you’d like to get an early start (and early end) to this year’s celebration, Crisis Brewing has their New Year’s Eve Party for Old People happening beginning at 2 p.m. today. They’ll be counting down along with the London, England Ball drop at 6 p.m., and passing out early.

Also in early celebrations, George’s has a happy hour show at 6 p.m. featuring Full House. Later on, local bluegrass heroes Arkansauce will help locals ring in the New Year for the late night show.

Sassafrass Springs Winery will host a New Year’s Eve Party Friday night with music by locals, Funk Factory. Tickets are $50 per person, and there’s a semi-formal dress code for the event.

Just down the road from there, Saddlebock Brewery is also planning a celebration with music by local band Hard Wired.

There’s a late night skate at the Starlight Skatium. There are dance parties planned at Maxine’s Tap Room, West and Watson, and C4 Lounge.

North Forest Lights are winding down their run at Crystal Bridges this weekend, but they’ll be open if you’d like to check them out this weekend. The exhibit closes Jan. 2.

There’s a comedy show at The Grove in Lowell featuring comedians Dale Jones and Jodi White.

On Saturday, the Razorback Football team will take on Penn State in the Outback Bowl. It’s an 11 a.m. kickoff. Here’s our preview of the game.
