Happy Friday, everyone.

How about a happy hour? Local legend Earl Cate and his current project Earl & Them will kick things off at George’s on Friday night with a happy hour show. Later on Friday night, the venue will host a free show by locals, the Cole Birmingham Band.

Walton Arts Center has a mini film festival on Friday night, with a screening of short indie films from South Asia in association with the folks from Fayetteville Film Festival. Here’s the lineup/ticket info.

The Walton Arts Center is also featuring a big Broadway show this weekend, with an adaptation of the classic film, An Officer and a Gentleman. Here’s ticket info to that one.

How about some sports? The Razorback gymnastics team is in town for a meet this weekend versus Ohio State at Barnhill Arena.

There’s an art show at American Shaman Kava Bar on Friday night. It’s a new tradition of first Friday night of the month art openings they’ve started recently, and this time they’ll feature new work by local street artist Tommy Tropical and music by DJ Stoker. Here’s a bit more info.
