Weekend Flyer: Buckcherry, Chad Cooke, Suni Lee and more

 

If our calculations are correct, it’s Friday again. We think. Who knows.

If it is Friday, as there has been for the better part of the last century, there’s a happy hour show to kick off the weekend at George’s. This week, there’s a Bob Seger tribute planned, followed by a late night show with Houston-based country act Chad Cooke Band, and Fort Worth artist, Palmer Anthony. On Saturday, 90s tribute The Mixtapes are back on stage at the venue. Ticket info to George’s shows is here.

Also in tunes, there’s a rock show at JJ’s Live with Buckcherry, The Lacs, and Core. Here’s ticket info.

Mojo’s East has been hosting Friday night music, and this week’s show will include some bluegrass tunes by local act, Greenland Station Bluegrass. It’s a free show.

In sports, the biggest event in town this weekend might be the Arkansas gymnastics meet Friday night. It’s the first time the Gymbacks have held a meet in Bud Walton Arena, in part to increase capacity for the meet because Olympian Suni Lee will be taking on the Hogs as part of this year’s Auburn Tiger team. The meet begins at 7:15 p.m.

There’s also some snow in the forecast for Saturday morning, so, maybe a snowball fight or some sledding is in your future this weekend.
