Some of the best bike racers in the world are coming to Fayetteville, and officials still need a few volunteers to help pull off the World Championship race set for next weekend.

The 2022 UCI Cyclocross World Championship is happening at Centennial Park Jan. 27-30, and volunteers are still needed for a variety of tasks around the race, including assistance with course logistics, crossing guards, spectator management, help in the hospitality tent, security, recycling, and more.

All volunteers will receive free admission on the day of their shift, a volunteer t-shirt, an official beanie, and lunch.

Races are scheduled for Jan. 28-30 at the bike-focused park in south Fayetteville. It will be just the second time the United States has ever hosted the event, which was first held in 1950 in Paris, France.

About 300 cyclists representing 25 nations are set to compete for titles in several men’s and women’s categories, including a new team relay event that will be tested for the first time at a cyclocross championship race.

The pro women will compete for the world championship title on Saturday and the pro men will race on Sunday. There are also categories for Juniors (under age 18), and riders in the Under 23 division (ages 18-23 for both women and men. A full schedule of events for the world championship weekend is below.

General admission tickets are $30 per day or $50 for a three-day pass. Tickets are available here

General admission includes complimentary shuttle services and/or bike valet. Once at the venue, general admission ticket holders will enjoy course access with plenty of viewing opportunities, access to the event expo, and the opportunity to purchase food and beverage as part of their race experience. Ages 11 and under are free and can receive tickets onsite.
