Puck Pieterse of The Netherlands nipped fellow Dutch rider Shirin van Anrooij at the finish line to win the women’s under 23 world cyclocross championship on Sunday at Centennial Park in Fayetteville.

Fem van Empel (Netherlands) crossed the line 12 seconds later to finish third for an all-Dutch sweep of podium.

The U23 category was the second of three races on Sunday, which began with the junior men’s event.

Swiss rider Jan Christen won a three-way sprint at the line to finish first ahead of Aaron Dockx (Belgium), in second, and Nathan Smith (Great Britain) who was third.

Below are some photos from both races.
