British cyclist Tom Pidcock cross the finish line in a one-armed superman position to win the men’s elite world cyclocross championship on Sunday at Centennial Park in Fayetteville.

Pidcock distanced the field on the fourth of nine laps and never slowed down, staying about 30 seconds ahead of Lars van der Haar (Netherlands) and Eli Iserbyt (Belgium), who finished second and third, respectively.

An estimated crowd of over 7,000 people attended the final day of racing at the south Fayetteville park. It was just the second time in history that the 73-year event has been held in the United States.
