The annual Fat Saturday Parade of Fools won’t happen in 2022 due to the pandemic, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t Mardi Gras fun to be had on Dickson Street this year.

Several Dickson Street Bars are planning the first ever ‘bead crawl’ between Fat Saturday, Feb. 26 and Fat Tuesday, March 1 this year.

Crawlers can visit the participating bars, including Infusion, Bugsy’s, Ryleigh’s, Sideways, Club Rush, The Piano Bar, and Pedal Pub to collect their beads between Feb. 26 and March 1.

A ‘weighing of the beads’ will take place at the Piano Bar at 11:59 p.m. on March 1, and the participants with the most beads will be eligible for a cash prize.

The Piano Bar will also host other festivities for Fat Tuesday, including a masquerade ball, costume contest, crawfish boil, live Cajun music, and more.

A bit more information about the Fat Tuesday celebration is available here.

Happy reveling, revelers.
