A new donut and boba tea shop is now open in the Northwest Arkansas Mall.

Mochi Xo, which opened Thursday, Feb. 17 on the north side of the mall’s food court, serves colorful Japanese mochi donuts and Taiwanese milk tea.

The donuts are made from rice flour, and are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. When we stopped by, the donuts of the day were topped with either graham cracker crumbs or a few varieties of popular breakfast cereals.

Mochi donuts contain about half the calories of a regular donut and are becoming popular in America due to their naturally gluten-free properties, according to a recent post from Mochi Xo.

Classic fruit teas are also available, along with some speciality drinks like a black tea latte, Oreo tiger milk tea, and strawberry matcha.

The shop is open during regular mall hours from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12-6 p.m. on Sunday.
