After a couple years off due to the pandemic, an unofficial Harry Potter fan convention will return to Fayetteville in 2022.

The event, called Wizard Way of the Ozarks (formerly DiaCON Alley of the Ozarks), is set for March 19-20 at the Fayetteville Town Center.

From the description of the event:

We’ve done our waiting… 2 years of it… in AZKA– No, wait, that’s not it! After rescheduling our event in 2020, we’re finally happy to announce we will be bringing back to our fan convention inspired by our love of worlds of wizardry and the boy who lived for the 3rd time! It’s Fayetteville’s award winning festival of all things wizards, witches, magic, and magical beasts!

According to the website, this year’s event will include several magical attractions, including a merchant alley, booths from community organizations, “magical foods and beverages” including butterscotch beer, a scavenger hunt, sorting, house points, raffles, photo ops, costume contests, wizard duels, and more.

The convention will be open each day from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Advance tickets to the event range from $25 for a Saturday pass, to $40 for a weekend pass, or $60 for VIPs. Ticket prices go up the day of the event. Children under 4 get in for free with parent or guardian.

Funds raised during this year’s convention will benefit Asbell Elementary School.
