Kolby Cooper / Tiger Style! / NWA Fashion Week
Whether it’s because schools are closed and you’re helping your kids with their homework, or because the Razorbacks play in the SEC tourney at 1:30(ish) this afternoon, or just because it’s been a long dang week and you deserve an afternoon off, the weekend’s starting early this week in Fayetteville. It just is. Sorry, bosses. We don’t make the rules.
The Hoop Hogs take on LSU in an early afternoon SEC tourney game in Tampa Bay on Friday. The Hogs will play 25 minutes after the end of the 11 a.m. Texas A&M/Auburn game, so tipoff wil likely be around 1:30 p.m. The game will be televised by ESPN. Here’s a preview.
Happy hour at George’s kicks off at 6 p.m. with locals, Full House. Later on Friday night, local 90s tribute The Mixtapes will perform, and there’s a country show on Saturday with Kolby Cooper and Brant Gilbert. Last we heard, this one is close to selling out.
Music has returned to Smoke and Barrel as well, and on Friday night, they have a three band bill with local rockers Fight Dream and Heather and Little Rock-ers Revenge Bodies.
Time is running out to catch the run of the comedy, Tiger Style! at Theatre Squared. Here’s more info and ticket deets.
Walton Arts Center will host a Fayetteville Film Fest event featuring some of the best films from their 2021 festival on Saturday night. It’s $15, and you can see three shorts and two features. Here’s more info.
Up north, NWA Fashion Week will take place this weekend at The Momentary. The event kicked off on Thursday, and shows and events are scheduled through the weekend. Friday’s show features work by Bryce Arroyos, Karla Guzman, Elizabeth, Felix Bui, and others. On Saturday, designers include Rinat Brodach, Gwen Nguyen, Crystal La’Shay, Haus of Naliz, and others. Here’s more info.
There’s more below. As always, because of the winter weather falling today, it’s probably best to double check with the venues to make sure these events haven’t been cancelled due to road conditions.
Have a great weekend, everyone.
